The Brief

Create a poster that explores the concept of dialogue through experimental typography. Focus on abstract visual storytelling using typographic elements
like scale, rhythm, and composition to express the tone, emotion, and dynamics
of a conversation.

The Solution

Designed an abstract poster that visualizes dialogue as an emotional and rhythmic exchange between two people. Through typographic tools like scale, direction, repetition, and white space, I conveyed the shifting energy of conversation, from tension to softness. A central eye anchors the composition, symbolizing the feeling of being seen or understood. Paired with lyric fragments from the song “My Eyes,” the poster becomes a visual conversation in itself, where type carries not just meaning, but mood.

Design Details

The project started with a series of black-and-white typographic studies focused on expressing dialogue through form, space, and rhythm. As I moved through each stage, I began thinking more about the overall feeling I wanted to create. I pulled lines from “My Eyes”—a song that helped guide the tone—and looked for an image that connected visually. I chose an iris, which felt like a natural fit. After applying a halftone effect in Photoshop, the dots gave it a distant, almost galaxy-like quality. That texture helped shape the rest of the poster, leading me to add gradients and more dots to build out that atmosphere. The final piece blends structure with emotion, where the typography and image work together to show how dialogue can feel.
